Wait, I have to wait??

One of the most difficult things to do...is wait. How often do we get so impatient when we wait? Our lives are so cram packed with schedules we don’t have time to wait. Human nature causes us to want instant results. We don’t want to wait for answers, or service, or street lights to turn green. We want response, we want direction, and we certainly want our own way. Living with this kind of mindset is dangerous. Simply put...it is selfish. When we really think about it, we don’t wait to discern what we should be doing. We pray to God asking for His help but many times we jump ahead of God’s timing and try to manipulate or rush things along. This does not benefit us. In fact, we are hindering our blessings.

God desires to help us. God knows what’s best. Jesus is waiting to guide us, but we must be willing to take His Hand and walk with Him. In order to do this we must be patient and open to hear or see God’s direction. When we pray about situations we must allow God to take over. This requires time and a period of waiting and listening. If you are willing to give God the opportunity to help you, God will give you the discernment through the Holy Spirit, to know what is His Will and not our own. Starting today, make a commitment to slow down and wait.

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. PSALM 27:14

However, as it is written: No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him – but God has revealed it to us by His Spirit. 1 CORINTHIANS 2:9-10

God is with you.
